My Garden Pond is Ruth Dixon’s blog. I started this blog in September 2012.
I am currently a researcher at the Blavatnik School of Government and an Associate Member of the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford. From 2010 to 2013 I was funded by the Leverhulme Trust to study changes in executive government over the past 30-40 years.
My book, ‘A Government that Worked Better and Cost Less? Evaluating Three Decades of Reform and Change in UK Central Government‘, co-written with Professor Christopher Hood, was published by Oxford University Press in April 2015. See http://xgov.politics.ox.ac.uk for details of the research project and book. The book was awarded the Louis Brownlow Book Award by the US National Academy of Public Administration in 2015 and the W.J.M. Mackenzie book award by the Political Studies Association in 2016.
I’m married to Jonathan Jones (@nmrqip) and we have a son, Stephen.
